AL-ROCK
MOBILE AND FLEXIBLE LASER HARDENING AND POWDER BUILDUP WELDING
The AL-ROCK is the first mobile robot for targeted hardening of metal surfaces.
The component to be hardened no longer has to be removed, as the laser can be moved directly to the workpiece. The far-reaching robot arm easily reaches hard-to-reach places. All that is required is free access of the laser beam to the workpiece surface to be hardened.
The area to be cured can be easily programmed via the software with scanner: Select the area to be scanned. The robot then automatically moves the scanner in several paths over the marked area. The result is a real-time 3D model. The operator then sets the parameters relevant to the process and can then simulate the program virtually.
The generated and confirmed program is automatically sent to the robot.
The laser beam precisely follows the workpiece contour in free 3D movements. Closing edges, dimples, grain structures or individual points can be easily cured in this way. The surrounding areas hardly experience any thermal stress, so that distortion is minimized. Self-quenching takes place due to the heat flow into the component.
And the AL-ROCK can do even more: The laser system can also be used for laser welding, for example for powder buildup welding.
Description
Your benefits at a glance:
- No transport of components necessary (e.g. of pressing tools)
- Avoidance of transport damage to the component
- High time saving
- No cooling media required due to self-quenching of the workpiece
- Low-distortion hardening due to selective and rapid temperature application
- On-site monitoring of the result by the customer possible
